Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Overview

Unswamp ("we", "our", or "us") is a gentle, ADHD-friendly focus planner. You speak (or type) what is on your mind, and AI turns it into small, doable steps. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use the Unswamp mobile application.

Unswamp is a productivity tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you first use Unswamp, we create an anonymous account for you — no email required. If you later choose to sign in with Google (to back up your data across devices), we receive your Google account email address and profile name. We never access your Google contacts, files, or any other Google data.

Brain dump transcripts and tasks

When you record a voice brain dump, speech recognition runs on your device using your phone's built-in speech-to-text. Audio recordings are never uploaded and never stored — by us or on our servers. Only the resulting text transcript is saved to your account, together with the tasks and steps generated from it, their status, and a simple daily completion count.

Preferences

We store your notification preferences, time zone, and language so the app behaves the way you set it up.

Usage and diagnostics

We collect anonymized usage analytics (e.g., number of brain dumps, steps completed) via Firebase Analytics and crash reports via Firebase Crashlytics to improve the app. This data is not used to identify you personally.

3. How AI Processing Works

Turning your brain dump into steps works as follows:

  1. Your speech is converted to text on your device. The audio never leaves your phone.
  2. The text transcript is sent over an encrypted connection to our secure backend (Google Cloud Functions).
  3. Our backend forwards the transcript to Anthropic's Claude API, which generates the task breakdown.
  4. The resulting steps are stored in your account and shown to you for review.

Anthropic processes this text as a data processor on our behalf and, per its API terms, does not use API data to train its models. We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.

4. Services We Rely On

Unswamp is built on the following service providers, each receiving only what it needs to function:

  • Google Firebase (authentication, database, cloud functions, notifications, analytics, crash reporting) — stores your account data.
  • Anthropic Claude API — processes brain dump text to generate steps.
  • RevenueCat & Google Play Billing — manage subscriptions. We never see or store your payment card details; payments are handled entirely by Google Play.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. You can delete individual dumps and tasks at any time inside the app. You can delete your entire account and all associated data in Settings → Account → Delete account, or by following the instructions at unswamp.app/delete-account. Deletion is permanent and is completed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights in-app or by emailing us at support@unswamp.app.

7. Notifications

Unswamp sends at most two notifications per day — a morning invitation and an evening check-in — and only if you allow notifications. You can turn either off in Settings at any time. We never send "overdue" or guilt-based notifications.

8. Children

Unswamp is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Transfers

Our service providers may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
